Details were released on Wednesday about a new partnership between ABC News and the Independent Journal Review to present a Republican debate days before the New Hampshire primary in 2016. This is notable because it continues the goal of the Republican National Committee to bring new media into the debate sponsorship and moderator role for 2015/2016.

Report from IJReview:

Alexandria, VA – IJReview, a leading social-first news company, will partner with ABC News to host the New Hampshire Republican Primary debate. It will be IJReview’s first presidential debate and will be held at St. Anselm College on Saturday, February 6, 2016. The debate will air live in primetime on the ABC Television network and WMUR-TV, ABC’s Hearst-owned affiliate in Manchester, New Hampshire. This event is one of the debates officially sanctioned by the RNC.

2016 will mark the 100th year of the New Hampshire primary, and IJReview will utilize its signature brand of mobile-first original content to expand the viewership of the New Hampshire GOP primary debate to millions of Americans beyond the traditional ABC News television audience.

“New Hampshire voters are independent-minded, they love their country and just plain enjoy discussing politics, and that means New Hampshire is truly IJ country,” stated IJReview founder Alex Skatell. “We’re excited to be in the First In The Nation state for our first presidential debate, and to partner with ABC News.”

You may or may not have heard of IJReview, but some 35 million people visit the site monthly which is far more than most major media news sites including CBS News, ABC News, and Fox News, to name a few. IJReview is a right-leaning conservative outlet which has grown vastly in the past few years to become a dominant force in “social publishing”, as they call it.
